Summary

• Images you convert with our tools are processed by your browser on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
• This website sets no cookies. We don’t include advertising or any ad network services.
• We use Plausible Analytics to measure traffic. Plausible works without cookies and without user profiles. Your IP address is processed only briefly and is not stored.

How your files are processed

The tools read your files using your browser’s built-in features and create the result on your device. The site sends no files, file names or image content to any server. We never receive your images, so we can’t store them either. Converted files end up only where you download them.

Some tools load additional program code from our website the first time you use them, for example a WebP encoder for Safari or a HEIC decoder for browsers that can’t open HEIC themselves. No data from your files is transferred with that request.

Hosting and connection data at Cloudflare

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare delivers the pages through a global network of data centres.

For your browser to load the site, Cloudflare processes connection data that is technically required. This includes:

• your IP address
• the date and time of the request
• the address requested and the page you came from
• information sent by your browser, such as browser type, operating system and preferred language

Cloudflare also uses this data to fend off attacks and keep the site stable. We use your preferred language to send you to the German or English version when you open the main address. This choice is not stored. We have not enabled any request logging of our own at Cloudflare, and we don’t analyse the connection data. Cloudflare keeps it only as long as it needs to run and secure the service and deletes it afterwards. Details are in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The website can’t be delivered without this data. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide the website securely and reliably.

We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare under Art. 28 GDPR. It is part of Cloudflare’s terms of service (Cloudflare Customer DPA). Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (listing on dataprivacyframework.gov). The European Commission’s adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR therefore applies to this transfer. Where a transfer is not covered by that decision, it is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR.

Audience measurement with Plausible Analytics

We want to know how many people visit the site and how often the tools are actually used. For this we use Plausible Analytics, provided by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia. The data is stored on Hetzner servers in Germany.

Plausible sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. For each page view, Plausible records:

• the page you visit and the page you came from
• browser, operating system and device type
• country, region and city, derived from your IP address

Plausible does not store your IP address. To count visits, it creates a hash from your IP address, your browser’s user agent and a random value that changes daily. Plausible deletes that random value after 24 hours. As a result, a visit can’t be followed across several days or across different websites.

We also count a few events inside the tools:

• conversion started, with the tool, the output format and the number of files as a rough range (for example 2 to 5)
• conversion completed, with the same details
• conversion failed, with the type of error
• download of a single file or as a ZIP
• language switch

File names and file contents are never part of these events.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to understand how the website is used and to improve the tools. We have a data processing agreement with Plausible under Art. 28 GDPR (Plausible DPA), which applies through use of the service.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no cookies. We don’t store any other data in your browser’s storage either.

Fonts

We serve the fonts together with the website. Your browser doesn’t connect to Google Fonts or any other font service to load them.

Contact by email or phone

If you email or call us, we process your email address or phone number and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the message once your request has been dealt with, unless a statutory retention obligation applies. There is no contact form on this website. Emails to contact@fennea.com are received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to our inbox without being stored permanently. The data processing agreement with Cloudflare mentioned above covers this.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights towards us:

• access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

Right to object

Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU member state where you live or work or where the alleged infringement took place.
