How it works
Drag your WebP files into the box, or pick them with “Choose files”.
Wait until each file shows up as a PNG in the list. There's no quality slider because PNG is lossless.
Save the PNGs one by one or download them all as a ZIP.

When PNG is the right target
You can turn a WebP into either JPG or PNG. Choose PNG when the image has transparent parts or when you plan to keep editing it. Logos, icons and cut-out product shots that a website serves as WebP are typical examples. The PNG keeps the transparent background, including soft edges and semi-transparent drop shadows.
PNG is lossless, so saving it again after an edit costs nothing. That matters if you crop an image, add a caption and save several versions along the way. Each round trip through JPG would blur it a little more.
What to expect
The PNG will usually be much larger than the WebP. That’s down to the format. A lossy WebP is full of subtly varying colors, and PNG has to store every one of them exactly. It doesn’t restore any detail the WebP lost. You get an exact copy of what’s in the WebP.
For photos you only want to email or print, JPG is often more practical. For that, use “Convert WebP to JPG” under “Other conversions”.
Stickers and animations
WhatsApp stores stickers as WebP files. The converter turns static stickers into PNGs with a transparent border, ready for an image editor or a slide. Animated stickers and other animated WebP files are rejected with a notice. Converting them would leave only the first frame, which is easy to miss.
Typical uses
- Your company logo only exists as a WebP on the website, and you need it with a transparent background for a presentation.
- You want to edit an icon in a graphics program that can’t open WebP.
- You’re using a sticker as a starting point for your own design and don’t want to lose quality every time you save.
Formats and limits
Good to know
- The output here is always PNG. Besides WebP, the converter accepts JPG, PNG and HEIC files.
- Transparency carries over completely, including partly transparent pixels.
- PNG is lossless, so this conversion has no quality setting.
- Animated WebP files are not converted. You'll see a message explaining why.
- Embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS is dropped. Color profiles are converted to sRGB first.
- Each image can have up to 50 megapixels, or up to 16 megapixels on iPhone and iPad. Larger images are rejected with a notice.
- All converted images together can be up to 512 MB, or up to 192 MB on iPhone and iPad. The same limit applies to the ZIP file.
Why is my PNG so much bigger than the WebP?
PNG compresses without loss and stores every pixel exactly. A WebP is allowed to discard detail, which keeps it small. For photos, the PNG can end up several times the size.
Will the transparent background survive?
Yes. PNG handles transparency just like WebP. Soft edges and partly see-through shadows look the same as they did in the WebP.
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. The PNG contains exactly the pixels from the WebP, so any blur or compression artifacts stay visible. What you gain is that later saves won't lose anything more.
Can I turn WhatsApp stickers into PNG?
Yes, as long as the sticker isn't animated. Static stickers are ordinary WebP images with a transparent background and become PNGs with a see-through border. Animated ones are rejected with a notice.
